At Allegria (pronounced al-uh-gree-ah), we are all about crafting moments of delight through great food, warm service and an inviting atmosphere.
We are passionate about what we do and how we do it. And committed to giving our customers great food – almost all of our food is prepared from scratch on the premises using prime ingredients sourced from local farmers and specialist suppliers wherever possible. And that ranges from great breakfasts; midday snacks, lunches & afternoon teas (almost all of our cakes, tarts, biscuits and slices are made in-house); to evening feasts – bistro-style dinners with a Mediterranean flavour ranging from antipasto dishes, pasta dishes, steaks and fresh fish. To complete your dinner we have a range of ice creams and gelatos in addition to our mouth-watering desserts.
In addition we offer traditional wood-fired pizzas from 3pm on Wednesday to Sunday evenings each week, again crafted from scratch! These are available for in-house dining and for takeaway.
We also offer a range of traditional Sunday roasts, always including Roast Beef with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, green vegetables, carrots and lots of gravy!
We always have Vegetarian options available and can cater for Vegans and other special dietary needs upon request. We also offer a food delivery service within the immediate area staffing permitting!
We open early every morning for breakfasts from our Brunch menu. Throughout the day we serve fine coffee, teas & chais (not a tea bag in sight); milkshakes, smoothies and cold-pressed juices; and we’re fully licensed with an interesting range of wines, many available by the glass; fine spirits and cocktails; and a couple of craft beers on tap brewed in Margaret River.
More years ago than we care to remember (30+, where does the time go?) we used to visit a place called Venta Toledo in the village of Guadiaro in southern Andalucia where we were living at the time. There you could get a great coffee at any time of the day or night, a beer or glass of wine, and good food ranging from a sandwich to a 3-course meal. It was the centre of the village community.
When we established Allegria in 2017/8 our aim was to attempt to create a ‘village hub’ for the people of Ocean Reef and our surrounding suburbs. And, although it’s been a wild ride, we have survived and are thrilled to have got to know so many people in the area and to have made so many friends and acquaintances – that has been the real joy of Allegria for us!
We couldn’t have achieved that without the support of our many regular customers, thank you, and without the talent of a great team now led by Emily, Café manager, and Lewis our head chef, ably assisted by Steffano and Emily, and the rest of our team: a mix of experience and younger members of staff who share our passion for service with a smile – we are proud of our team and love their interaction with customers, old and young alike.
